This fits snugly on a 3/8" valve hose barb, and allows you to meter sparge water onto your grain bed with the valve. The hollow 304 grade stainless steel float on the end of the  3/8" silicone hose is 2" in diameter, and keeps the hose above the grain bed so it does not dig in and disrupt the grain bed.

To use, just put on top of your grain bed in your lauter tun, and adjust your valve until an inch of water is above the grain bed. Open your lauter tun exit valve, and keep about an inch of water above the grain bed for even sparging. Continue until you have finished sparging and then turn off.

Simpler and easier to use than a Sparge Arm, and just as effective. Fits any valve with a 3/8" hose barb (so it can be used with a wide variety of systems). The silicone hose is 4' long, and the stainless steel float features a 3/8" opening for the tubing.

Sparge float ball assembly

Review by Paul on 8/29/2014

I was a little skeptical as I really wanted something to sprinkle water evenly over the grain bed. The reviews on the rotating sparge arm were less than glowing, so for $20 I thought I would give this a try. It definitely worked as advertised. As long as one monitors the flow both in and out of the mash tun and keeps an inch of water on top of the grain bed it seems to sparge evenly. The ball, and discharge, tend to stay at the edge of the tun and erodes a slight depression in the edge of the grain bed but did not seem to get all the way through. It managed to keep an even colored layer of water over the mash for the entire sparge. I'll keep using it.

Easy to use and works great!

The floating ball keeps your sparge water flowing gently at the surface above the grain bed. This assembly is simple to set up and easy to clean.

the float ball was not used to distribute sparge water it was used to help clear the beer and it worked well.

Great affordable sparge option

Review by Brad Korte on 10/31/2018

After considering every option on the market from an auto-sparge to a waterfalling carousel, landed on this simple design. It’s easy to use, easy to clean, affordable, and adaptable. I started with all grain using this setup so I cannot attest to any change in efficiency, but off the bat I’m seeing 75-80%. Yeah you need to watch the water level when fly sparring but you’re brewing, be engaged. Thanks for the great product.
