Used by many German brewers to produce rich, full-bodied lagers. This is probably our favorite lager yeast, as it produces relatively clean beer over a wide temperature range (for a lager). Medium flocculation, attenuation: 73-77%. Ideal temperature range: 48-62°F.

Dependable lager yeast
Was attracted to this yeast due to its wide temperature range for fermentation. Have typically used the Munich lager yeast with very good results. Used this yeast for a Baltic porter lager and was surprised at how smooth it is on first taste. Fermented the batch at 55F, and then, like any lager, did a diacytyl rest at 60F for two days. A very good beer.
Great Lager Yeast
I've used this yeast multiple times to make a Bock and the outcome was great. If you follow the temperature recommendations the yeast provides a nice malty flavor.
Weihenstephan Lager
I'd have to agree that this is my favorite lager yeast, as well, for everything from German Light Lagers to Viennas to Schwarzbiers. From my experience, I'd rate the flocculation as closer to medium-high. Expect some sulfur production, but it conditions out nicely. For me, this is the German lager yeast of choice.
