Check fermentation temp range
Wyeast site says this yeast best ferments between 45-68F not 46-54F as this site does. Typo? Can make a big difference in fermentation success.
Good stuff
Am using on a Maibock that is now in the fermenter. I have used this yeast before with good results. When I transfer this to a secondary fermenter to lager it I will save some yeast from the carboy to use on an Oktoberfest. When I transfer the Oktoberfest I will use reclaimed yeast for a Doppelbock. Should be a good way to save $$ by not having to do starters with more yeast packages. I like the smack packs as a way of seeing yeast viability. Williams yeast prices are very good as well.
