This 12" concave type 304 stainless false bottom features a 3/8" stainless hose barb coming out the top for attachment to your cooler or pot valve (via high temperature thermoplastic tubing).
Now improved, with a silicone lip that both prevents cooler scratches and firmly plants the false bottom on the floor of the cooler, preventing shifting. It also includes a ¾" wort pickup tube on its underside, which is positioned ¼" from the cooler bottom when in place, high enough to prevent clogging, but low enough to draw wort from a very low point in the cooler, maximizing efficiency.
This 12" model is custom designed to fit Igloo and Rubbermaid 10 gallon coolers. Order a foot of our J50 3/8" thermoplastic tubing to fit this hose barb.

Q: I have a Grainfather and was wondering if this will fit inside for a good conversion since the Grainfather doesn't come with a false bottom but the Robobrew does?

Q: Will the silicon lip burn if i use this false bottom in my boil kettle, in which i am doing a step mash?
A: The water in the kettle should prevent the silicone from burning.

Q: Any issues with this false bottom floating off the bottom of the cooler during the mash?
A: None that we have experienced. It is made of pretty heavy stainless.
False Bottom
This is an awesome product! My mash tun works the way if should now. The silicone seal is a great addition.
Great with modifications
Great false bottom, but after several stuck runoffs I replaced the 3/8" corner with a 1/2" bend (the corner bend is smaller than 3/8" on the inside) and since then no further stuck runoffs! My favorite thing since my counterflow wort chiller!
Good to the last drop
With the inclusion of this false bottom as an upgrade from a bazooka tube plus adding in rice hulls, about 5% of total grain bill, to the mix, my efficiency is between 82-86%, up from about 72%. Unreal. In my 10 gallon Igloo cooler, my lost wort is just shy of two cups thanks to the extra 'collar' on the bottom side of the elbow. GREAT thinking! Couldn't be happier.
12 stainless false bottom
Purchased two of these along with the 3/8" thermoplastic tubing. Outfitted a ten gallon cooler to utilize as a mash tun. Outfitted a 36 qt. Pot to also utilize as a step infusion mash tun. Highly recommended.
