Dependable ale yeast

Review by Sean Derning on 11/18/2019

Shooting for an imperial porter in the Yorkshire/Theakston style (think Sam Smith's imperial stout). This one does a good job at allowing the malt profile to come forward and offers a bready, soft nose. Used Williams black Baltic malt for base, no bitterness or burnt off flavors. Fermented at 60F, no erratic fermentation issues. Produced a good, true-to-style beer.

A great yeast1

I"ve been using this yeast since the smack packs have been gold. A malt forward yeast that works well in stouts to DIPA'S. The only yeast I use in my IPA,s because of the malt and hop balance it gives. I ferment between 65 and 68.
