An outstanding example of the classic mild and fruity Costa Rica coffee taste. Grown in the Tarrazu region by various small landholders. Unlike Columbian and Sumatra, Costa Rica coffees have a milder, more subtle character and are best when roasted brown (not black). If you like a mild, medium roast coffee, this one is a classic. 2 lb. bag

Excellent Coffee

Review by Mark D on 1/21/2021

This coffee was an instant favorite among my family. Very tasty when roasted to a city level (didn't try any others).

This is my favorite all around coffee

Review by WineMaking Radio - I do beer too ;-) on 3/20/2008

Pros: Te Costa Rica coffee, including the costa rican decaf are my favorite all around coffee bean to roast. I roast it using the Fresh Roaster Plus machine. I fill the cup about 1/4 inch under the silver band and roast for 5.5 minutes for a full-bodied French (almost Vienna) roast. Mmmm, I need to go brew a pot right now!

Great Coffee

Review by Sandra H. on 11/29/2007

Pros: This was my first order with William's Brewing but it won't be my last. I loved this coffee. I roasted it with my stove top popcorn popper and it turned out great. I did a medium roast. This is a mild coffee so if you like a stronger cup try another one.

Cons: None in my book!

Good value!

Review by Roger H. on 6/22/2007

Pros: This coffee makes a great medium to dark roast, with lots of caramel flavor and no bitterness. Turn the roaster to cool at the first sign of the second crack, or go a little longer and you will not be disappointed.

Cons: None in my book.

Q: My order of Costa Rica Las Trohas Superior arrived in a bag Costa Rica Starmaya (M42)... is that the same?

A: No, Starmaya is a different farm. Same taste profile and quality though.
