Used to acidify mash and sparge water for the advanced brewer. To make a working solution, add 2 teaspoons to 3 cups of water, and then stir into your mash (after the grain has been added, because grain lowers the pH) until the pH drops to the correct 5.0 to 5.5 range for mashing. This is only necessary if your tap water is alkaline. Also good for adjusting sparge water pH to the ideal 6.0 to 6.5 range. Food grade. Use the working solution sparingly for best results. 5 ounce bottle of 88% solution.

RESTRICTED SHIPPING- No shipments to Alaska, Hawaii, U.S. Possessions, or Military addresses, and ground shipment only to the lower 48 states.

After market stickers covered the exp date

It works as it should dropped the ph on my wort fine. Someone in their wisdom weather deliberate or oblivious that works for the store or shipping receiving or somewhere in the chain between manufacturers & products delivery to me strategically placed an after market label exactly over the manufacturers expiration date printed on the side of the label.

Q: i have heard that lactic acid can be used as a quick way to "sour" beer. I have a recipe calling for 5 oz. added at bottling time which would be 2 1/2 of these containers. Does this sound right for 5 gallons?

A: Watch out for a one dimensional flavor added by the acid. We would recommend adding 2 oz or so to start per 5 gallons. Stir it in and then taste. You can always add more, but adding too much will ruin the batch.
