Description

From the Bucaramanaga region, our Colombian green beans produce a coffee with a clean, rich taste.  The classic Central American coffee, Colombian has one of the most enticing aromas when freshly roasted. One of the most popular gourmet coffees, and very versatile for the roaster, as it makes an excellent light or dark (French roast) style of coffee.

We sell the Excelso grade of Colombian, this is a slightly smaller bean than Supremo, but offers all the flavor of Supremo at a better price (Excelso and Supremo beans usually are grown on the same tree, but then sorted by size). 2 pound bag.

One of my favorites.
I received this with my purchase of a Behmor. I've gotten so caught up in trying different types of coffee from so many different regions and process types, I underestimated this Colombian. I roasted it medium dark. 17% weight loss and 25% development finished right at the start of second crack. Taste some nice caramel tones, very smooth. Taste what most average coffee drinkers expect coffee to taste like. I personally enjoy a bit of a lighter roast at about 15% weight loss, but this I wanted to take a little farther which I'm glad I did. Liked it best as espresso and with my V60 with authentic Hario paper filters (believe it or not I can tell the difference).

Complex
Complex flavors of tobacco, chocolate and nuttiness. Just past medium roast works best. Tried roasting it dark, when the flavors get muted.
An excellent bean overall.

Can't be beat
Light roast, dark roast, almost burnt roast - the best coffee all around for home roasting. Depending on how you choose to roast these beans you can get many different flavor notes. This coffee bean has been very consistant over the years I have ordered from Williams Brewing.
