Made of compressed sodium metabisulfite and used as an antioxident. Usually used at the rate of 1 tablet per gallon by wine and mead makers as a preservative before, during, and after fermentation. One tablet per gallon adds about 75ppm.

A: Using 1/2 tablet per 10 gallons of brewing water will dissipate chlorine and chloramine, according to several sources on the web.
