Described as the optimal yeast for revealing the esters in Lager beers, Fermentis SafLager™ E-30 produces higher levels of esters than other SafLager™ strains. When fermented at higher temperatures, some subtle isoamyl acetate production is possible. More attenuative than S-33 and S-189, SafLager™ E-30 is low in sulfur and diacetyl production.
Featuring nice flocculation and sedimentation, it is suitable for various Asian-style lagers, Mexican lagers, Australasian lagers, American Light lagers and more. The best dry yeast to use if you want to try and make an Asian style dry crisp lager. Also good for Mexican style lager.
Fermentation Temperature: 48.2-71.6°F, ideally 53.6-59°F
Flocculation: Medium
