I've been through two of these. The first one went haywire after a month. It became stuck on a Celcius number and would only recover when I took the battery out for a few hours. After a few fixes, it just froze. I wasn't aware of the 5 year warranty, so bought a replacement and I now have two thermometers with exactly the same problem! I'm going to send them both back to CDN in hopes of replacement, but will never purchase a new one from them.
I've already reviewed this thermometer, but I would like to add some comments about customer service. I contacted CDN about my thermometer problems and they said to send them in. I did, and within four days I had two new thermometers in original packaging! Granted, I live in Oregon, so turn around time would be short, but I am impressed by how quickly they responded to my situation. I expected some additional questions and typical hassle, but no way.
This definitely improves my opinion of CDN, and hopefully my experience with these new thermometers will match other ratings.
