Q: Do any of your brew systems have a built in chiller, or is a separate chiller required?

A: A separate chiller is needed, our item E81 Immersion Wort Chiller works well.

Q: What is the threading on the outlet side of the ball valve? I thought it was 1/2" NPT but the cam lock quick disconnect won't thread on.

A: It is 1/2" straight thread, and you can often get 1/2" NPT fittings like a cam lock to fit on, and use teflon tape to seal.

Q: Will the neoprene jacket for the RoboBrew 35l fit the Mash and Boil?

A: No, the Mash & Boil is a bit larger in diameter because it is double wall. The fact that it is double wall means it looses less heat than a Robobrew, so the jacket is not as important.

Q: What size is the tubing on the re-circulation arm? Could you just hook it up to a counterflow chiller directly from that tubing?

A: The re-circulation arm will accept item J52, 1/2" heavy walled thermoplastic tubing. We recommend thermoplastic tubing as it is best suited for the high temperature of the wort and pressure generated by the pump.

Q: When using the pump to recirculate during the mash, does the lid stay on. I would imagine you would lose a lot of temperature.

A: No, the lid stays off during mashing.
