Q: Can the bulkhead be replaced? Is there enough room that a user be able to add a dip tube?

A: The bulkhead valve can be easily replaced, and it also fits the Brewer's Edge KettleValve (item R45) and other valves that fit into 22mm openings. There is a backnut on the back of the valve for easy removal. A dip tube is not provided, but could be possibly fabricated.

Q: Is the control panel a PID? Or just a simple temp controller? I'm curious if it would overshoot temps if recirculating and trying to hit/keep temp.

A: It is a simple thermostat controller, adjust for temperature, time on (default set to 3.5 hours), and has a programmable timer so you can program the unit to turn on with a delay of 1 to 24 hours.

Q: How much liquid is left at the bottom? since there is no dip tube and there is 1 1/2" dead space.

A: Approximately 3/4 of a gallon is left when the liquid level is below the valve.

Q: How much dead space is there between the dip tube and bottom of the boil kettle (not mash basket)? Also, would be nice if you have a picture that showed what the inside looks like.

A: It is 1½" from the bottom to the center of the valve. There is not a dip tube, just a valve inlet on the inside which is not threaded.

Q: The listing says it's double wall construction. Is it double-wall vacuum insulated, or is there air in the space between the walls?

A: There is air in between the walls, it is not vacuum insulated.
