Unique Flavor

Review by Gary H. on 1/1/2007

Pros: Friends who are not into home brews found this beer to be very good. I am going to make my second batch.

A crowd-pleaser

Review by Alex L. on 7/15/2006

Pros: With wonderfully delicate malt flavors and hop aromas, this beer exudes German sophistication. It's almost impossible to dislike.

Cons: None, really. Only die-hard fans of over-the-top American craft brews will be underwhelmed.

German Ale improves with age

Review by Bill B on 9/17/2005

Pros: This beer has a great color and appearance. The flavor is pleasing too. Initially the beer had a rather floral aroma and taste. After some time in the bottle the floral has given way to a delicate fruitiness. This is an excellent beer to enjoy with food. I unveiled this beer (my first attempt at homebrewing in 20 years) along with the Father's Day Ale at a backyard barbecue which was attended by quite a few Miller Lite devotees. They loved the German Ale. I was happy to get them out of their comfort zones and expose them to the possibilities of home brewing.

Cons: No cons really. I have noticed that it is becoming increasingly difficult to enjoy commercial beers as I really enjoy the flavor and freshness of my homemade beer

German ale

Review by LES R. on 9/17/2005

Pros: Nice color. Great taste. I am new to brewing and this was my second try. Easy to brew and drink. Saving some for an Octoberfest event.

Cons: Had some trouble activating the yeast pack. Couldn't quite get the hang of busting the inner pouch.
