Makes a very nice brown ale

Review by John M. on 2/7/2010

Pros: This malt has a nice nutty, slightly roasty flavor that works great for brown ales. Would make a good porter too, with addition of some darker malts. I brewed a brown ale using this, London Ale yeast and homegrown Willamette hops. I'd hoped for a little more bittering from the hops, but the batch turned out great, with a lot of complexity in the malt flavors.

Makes a great brown ale

Pros: smooth and delicious, combine this with 1/2 oz Columbus for bittering (45 min), 1.5 lb DME, 1 oz fuggles for flavor (15 min) and 1/2 oz Columbus for aroma (0 min), american ale yeast (S05) -- My best beer yet.

Tasty addition to brewing collection.

Pros: I made a beautiful 5 gallon batch of brown ale with this extract, adding only hops and 1 lb of crushed 60 L crystal malt. The ale received excellent reviews!
