Sparge float ball assembly

I was a little skeptical as I really wanted something to sprinkle water evenly over the grain bed. The reviews on the rotating sparge arm were less than glowing, so for $20 I thought I would give this a try. It definitely worked as advertised. As long as one monitors the flow both in and out of the mash tun and keeps an inch of water on top of the grain bed it seems to sparge evenly. The ball, and discharge, tend to stay at the edge of the tun and erodes a slight depression in the edge of the grain bed but did not seem to get all the way through. It managed to keep an even colored layer of water over the mash for the entire sparge. I'll keep using it.
