Honey Wheat

Review by Chris S. on 7/20/2008

Pros: Very easy to brew. Everyone loved it. My wife especially likes the wheats.

Cons: It disappeared too fast. Hard to keep in stock!

Very flavorful and balanced

Review by Daniel K. on 7/11/2008

Pros: This was a very good beer. Not overpowering honey taste, nor too bitter. I added a bit of lemon to give it a tart flavor and it came out very well.

Cons: The honey is fermentable so mine was a bit high on the alcohol side... but no matter, just drink safely.

A big hit

Pros: This was so good. I added orange peel near the end of the boil and used a secondary fermentation . Wow. I shared with friends and now I'm being inundated with requests for more.

makes a great holiday beer!

Review by sluzader on 3/20/2008

Pros: I have used this kit three times as the basis for a holiday beer for the winter season. I add orange peel, ginger, and cinnamon (following the recipe for "Holiday Cheer" in Papazian's "New Complete Joy of Home Brewing" book) to get a very nice festive beer. For last winter's version, I even added a little black patent malt, which enhanced the flavor and made the brewing process a little more fun. If you don't have access to the individual ingredients for "Holiday Cheer", this modification of the brewing process is great!

Great product

Pros: This is the best tasting, simplist and easiest honey wheat kit that I have found.

Cons: Not at good as grains - but sometimes you just don't have the time!
