Excellent Beer Kit

Review by Michael Roberg on 5/11/2010

Pros: Brewing this beer is about as easy as it gets. The malt extract produces a beautiful deep red beer. Final product had excellent head retention and tasted fantastic. The price for the kit can't be beat.

Cons: The only reason I give it a 9 instead of a 10 is I would like to see the kit come with whole hops instead of hop pellets. I think whole hops offer a better flavor than can be achieved with hop pellets. But other than that, an excellent brew.

William's Red Ale

Review by tsnovak on 5/10/2010

Pros: I've been making beer for over 15 years, and your Red Ale freshly made, tastes even better than Red Hook Ale!!

Easy brew with GREAT results

Review by Arlin A. on 5/9/2010

Pros: We've brewed two batches of this so far: it was our first brew, then we brewed it with a couple of friends at their request. We love the taste and are proud to share it with friends.

Cons: None.

If you like Shiner Bock you'll love this one

Review by Dennis P. on 5/7/2010

Pros: Easy to brew and a great taste. Five gallons goes way too fast. Now buying two kits at a time; when I bottle one batch I brew another. Can't keep ahead of the curve this is so good.

Cons: None.

Excellent color and taste

Review by Michael M. on 5/7/2010

Pros: I compared this to another highly-rated red ale and this one comes in a close second. It had a tasty smooth caramelized malt taste. The color was such a strong, beautiful red - making it better than the professional microbrew. Medium body. I will definitely brew this again.

Cons: Mine didn't come out as hoppy as I would have liked. Sometimes it has a lingering sweetness in the aftertaste.
