My favorite beer kit

Review by ITSMYKE on 5/9/2010

Pros: I've made several of the beer kits on this site and this one is my favorite. It has a very light beer flavor and the watermelon taste is great. I'll definitely do this one again!

Great summer taste

Review by Thomas B. on 8/19/2009

Pros: This beer was one of the best so far. I was impressed by how great it tastes and the fact that I only had to wait about 2 weeks for the secondary fermentation. Everyone that has tried this beer loves it.

Cons: I also fought the plastic bag. I had the best luck tossing the bag into hot water before opening it up.

Watermelon Ale

Review by John L. on 8/11/2009

Pros: I don't know what every one is complaining about? this is a GREAT summer Ale. I used half the flavoring in my secondary fermenting "carboy" and the other half when I kegged this beer. I aged this beer for about three weeks in my carboy and two weeks in the keg and it turned out fine.

Cons: It's almost too easy to make, not much of a challenge here.

William's Watermelon Ale

Review by Kris E. on 8/5/2009

Pros: Crisp, somewhat light, popular with 99% of friends that tried it, nice carbonation.

Cons: The watermelon extract smells and tastes somewhat artificial at first. I think it ages well within 2-4 months it tastes more natural.

Too sweet

Review by Craig B. on 5/25/2009

Pros: None.

Cons: Overwhelmingly sweet, artificial watermelon taste. Not "beer-like". Low carbonation, flat. (I'd go for 1/2 the recommended watermelon flavoring added before bottling).
