Description

Make your own whiskey, bourbon, rum, brandy
The large pure copper dome helps remove bitter compounds
• All you need is a Mash & Boil or Anvil Foundry & two garden hoses with female couplers
• Save $20.00 over separate purchase prices

Do you own a Mash & Boil or Anvil Foundry and want to get into making your own whiskey, bourbon, rum, or cognac?  We have the perfect package that includes everything you need except a Mash & Boil and ingredients to get into distilling your own whiskey, bourbon, cognac, rum. This is a Pot Still package, which means the simple pure copper condenser included does not strip all the flavor out of the mash, required for true bourbon, whiskey, cognac, and rum. This is not the best setup for Vodka, Gin, or other clear spirits, as it leaves too much flavor in the final product.

This is a Copper Dome Pot Still package, the ultimate for making brown spirits like whiskey, bourbon, rum, or scotch. The large pure copper contact area of the dome and still helps remove bitter sulfer compounds from the distillate, resulting in the smoothest possible flavor. This is not the best setup for Vodka, Gin, or other clear spirits, as it leaves too much flavor in the final product.

Includes a Kegland Quick Disconnect Pot Distilling Arm,  Mash & Boil Distilling Lid, Glass Hydrometer Jar, Alcometer Hydrometer, and complete instructions. Regularly $169.99 if purchased separately, this package saves you $20.00 and makes sure you have everything you need.  Please read the instructions below before ordering.

Note: you will need two garden hoses for supplying the cooling water, and two female quick connect garden hose couplers, such as those sold by Melnor, Hozelock, Gardena, and others. These are available at hardware stores in the garden hose section.

Note: This looks very similar to the R10 Grainfather Copper Dome Package, but has a different diameter dome to accomodate the double wall Mash & Boil.

Click to download the instructions in pdf format. Note that the instructions are just for the pot still condenser, and do not picture the included copper dome.

How do you get the silicone gasket to fit and stay on the bottom of the dome? Mine keeps bending and popping off as if it's too small.
It can be a little tricky to install the gasket. The best way to install it is to sit in a chair at a desk or table with the dome upside down in your lap. Next lay the gasket in the groove evenly starting at the bottom closest to your chest or the 6 o'clock position. The gasket should lay flat in the groove until you get to the 3 o'clock and 9 o'clock position. Then put your thumbs on top of the gasket at the 3 o'clock and 9 o'clock positions and slide them evenly until you reach the 12 o'clock position. If the gasket starts to curl up, take it out and flip it over and try again.

Would this fit on an Anvil Foundry 10.5 Gallon?
We have not tried it with that item, so we can't say for sure. However, the Anvil Foundry says it is T500 compatible, so you should be able to use this package with it if it is 100% T500 compatible.

Ref. the question I sent in on 8-11 about "clips" for the older model Mash & Boil that I could attached to unit. Unable to locate source for clips ( Lowe's, Home Depot, etc). Do you have a contact # for Mash&Boil Cust/svc? Unable to find # thru google.
There is not a retrofit kit for the older Mash & Boil without lid clips. We do not know of a commercially available clip that would work.

My Mash & boil unit is the 1st production unit without "clips". Can you use aluminum tape (like used on a/c duct work) to secure lid sense there is little pressure involved ; or would you take in a trade in on a new model of Mash & boil?
You would need some kind of clips to hold the lid down, perhaps you can find something at a hardware store. The old unit cannot be upgraded to clips, as they are spot welded on. The original Mash & Boil is several years old, and we do not take trade-ins.
