Optimum Fermentation Temperature: 50-55°F

Yeast Starter Required

These are live cultures. Although the White Labs tube says you can pitch this directly into your wort without a starter, this is not a good ideal for yeast that has shipped through the mail (unless you pay for ice packs and two day air or Priority Mail shipping). We sell these live cultures with the understanding that it is your responsibility to proof the culture on arrival by making a yeast starter. If you do not have yeast starter equipment, see this link for details on ours. Thank you and enjoy!

Reviews from White Labs:

" ... my favorite beers"
By: Dominic
Date: Nov 14, 2010
Beers brewed: Czech Pilsener
Comments: Of all beer I brewed (12 all grain), this yeast strain have produced my favorite beers. Fermentation has been done at 55-57F, I'm able to taste every subtle note of hops and malt in my recipe. It's simply fantastic!

"It is a real workhorse"
By: Jake Huzel
Date: Oct. 15, 2009
Beers brewed: Pilsner, Schwarzbier, Pumpkin Lager, Rauchbier
Comments: Great yeast! Its a real workhorse, really malty profile easy to handle. I took it to six generations and still produced amazing beer! Really recommend it to anyone looking for a solid lager yeast.
