Our exclusive American Rye is mashed with pale malt, rye malt, and crystal malt to make a reddish amber extract accented with the unique taste of rye malt. Ideal for American-style Rye IPA's and Pale Ales, and you can even use it as a base for whiskey.  This extract is highly fermentable to achieve the dry earthly flavor profile Rye IPA's are known for. Rye content of the grain bill to make this extract is 14%.

Approximate SRM color value of 6 pounds of extract dissolved into 5 gallons of water before boiling: 8

American Rye Extract

Review by Jeff on 4/26/2016

Just bottled this yesterday, however, preliminary taste test (just had to try it, flat and unconditioned as it is) promises this will be excellent when fully done. Used Wyeast 1056 yeast and three additions of hops during the boil, along with dry hopping after 9 days after end of active fermentation. looking forward to getting this one completed

I love that Williams now has rye extract. This will be my go to extract in the near future. Great for some spicy, dry rye IPAs.

I used this for a double rye IPA. It worked great. Used a ton of cascade with it. Worth every penny if your going huge.

Q: What % of rye is in this extract?

A: 15% rye. We initially formulated this extract with 20% rye, but found the rye flavor was too harsh.
