Oakmore is a granulated oak that can be added to the primary or secondary fermenter. This versatile premium oak product lets you add oak when you want to, and does not limit you to the secondary fermenter like oak chips. The finely granulated oak mixes in with the wine, and settles out before you transfer to another fermenter or bottle. Extraction times can be as short as 14 days, compared with 30 days or more for oak chips. Made from toasted oak sourced from central France.
This is the toasted French Avantage™ grade and is ideal for fine red wines, and imparts a rich, delicate oak balance with a hint of vanilla. Pictured at left above. Use 1 to 5 ounces per 5 gallon batch of wine.
