Great Digi Thermometer

Review by Greg B on 11/16/2014

I've used this for 2 brews and I'm very satisfied. Fast and accurate and long enough to not get burned. My wife uses it in the kitchen on occasion too. I do wish it had ac\ clip to hang on the side of the kettle though. After going through several dropped glass ones, this is nice.

Just OK

Nothing special but the device is serviceable. My only negative experience was that it did not work well as a submersible thermometer. After 15 minutes in the mash the display was unreadable and the plastic interface bubbled up. Eventually after cooling it returned fully functional but I would not recommend submersing it as stated in the description. My positive experiences with the product is that it was very easy to calibrate and takes a very quick reading.

Accurate

Fast and accurate readings

Good thermometer

I dropped my other one in the mash and drowned it. This one is more sturdy and I don't have to worry about getting it wet. I also wiped it with alcohol and checked my fermentation temperature. I used the beer that dripped off the thermometer to check the gravity using my refractometer.

Does what it says

I have a number of the smaller CDN's and wanted something with a longer stem that was also fast to read mash temps. This does the trick. It is a couple seconds slower to read than the smaller version, but it gets down into the middle of the mash better. Another solid instrument by CDN at a good price.
