Description

Making your own wine is satisfying and easy.  As long as you ferment great juice, keep everything sanitary, and give it enough time to age (3 months or more for whites, 6 months or more for reds), you will get great wine.

Here at William’s, we have developed our William’s California Wine Kits with this philosophy in mind. Our Kits include 192 ounces of pure California varietal grape concentrate, condensed at temperatures that never exceed 180 degrees F. from Central Valley wine grapes picked at their ripe peak in the late Summer and early Fall. To complement the varietal juice, specially selected dry wine yeast, oak chips, and nutrient are also included as needed. Unlike many wine kits featuring added sugar, this 192 ounces of pure concentrate is all that is needed (except for the yeast and addtives) to produce 5 gallons (24 bottles) of varietal wine.

Cabernet Sauvignon is one of the most popular California varieties, and is ideal for the true red wine lover than can age their wine for 3 years or more. This grape produces a full and rich red wine, with more boldness and dry tannin flavors than Merlot. You can easily age this one for 4 years and have it continually improve.

cab kit
so far the cab kit seems to be excellent. I used other kits but the real test is the taste test and that will come down the road. most kits are the same it's the juice that separates them to early to tell but so far so good!

So far so good!
So we decided to give this a try. Our first experience making wine. Looked at trying to just use grapes but that seemed waaaay too hard. This was just so simple! Mixed it up, followed all the directions & now we wait! So easy, thanks!

Cabernet Sauvignon California wine kit
Started making wine since 1970. Wine judge at Ohio State Fair for 7 years. Bottled Dec. 2012. Wine could/should have been drier and have more oak flavor. The flavor is not up to a commercially made Cabernet Sauvignon standards. The wine is very interesting and good, but fals short. I would like to try again with keeping ant air away from the fermentation/bottling process.

Great Wine at a Good Price
I have made wine with this kit at least 4 times and plan on doing so again. I really like the taste, as well as the ease of making good wine. I usually bottle half in wine bottles and half in beer bottles.

The only bad thing, which other people have also mentioned, is the instructions. For a newbie, it would be nice to have a better description of what to do and why. After the 1st batch turns out OK, the instructions are fine for the 2nd batch.
