A bench capper that adjusts automatically for differing height bottles - just raise the handle upright to release the capping head and slide it up or down the shaft (the shaft is spring-loaded for easy upward adjustment). When the head is on top of a bottle, move the handle forward to lock the capping head in place on the shaft before capping. Made by Ferrari of Italy.
Unlike traditional bench cappers, there is no need to constantly unscrew and tighten a shaft adjusting nut to accommodate different-height bottles - just raise the handle and slide the head on top of the next bottle. This 19” tall steel and plastic capper will cap bottles ranging from 4” to 12” tall,

the performance its intended to do. the little plastic stops that help prevent the capper from adjusting while bottling should be more heavy duty, or should include additional stops. I bottled my first case in half the time as it would take me using the winged capper. just going to have to get used to using more and more to get comfortable with it too.. Still worth the money
Works well. Have used about 2 years, 30+ batches. Auto adjust does not move smoothly now, it sticks a little. May need to be lubricated or adjusted. Shouldn't be difficult, four screw/bolts hold the housing together. I also have the 29/31 mm crimper cap. Bottles tend to get stuck using this adapter and they need to be "wiggled" to get them out of the capper.
It's good to see Williams no longer offers the COLT BENCH Capper. I was given one as a gift and the caps get stuck in the crimping cup. It was impossible to remove without breaking the bottle. Williams was very responsive when I called and complained, great company to deal with glad they no longer offer the poor quality merchandise.
This does have plastic parts so just treat it as such, but this is so much better than the 2-handle cappers.
I bought this on Feb 5, 2013 and used it once. The plastic bends and warps as I attempted to bottle. This will be going in the trash
