Designed by brewers several centuries ago, these traditional hardwood mash rakes are handcrafted in the United States from white birch. The angled rake design make blending strike water with crushed grain an easy task. Both rakes (30” rake shown) feature round hardwood components that help them flow through the stiffest mash with ease. Much easier to use than a long spoon, and a reminder that many of the best ideas are not new. Rakes are identical except for the handle length. This 36" length rake is ideal for stirring 10 gallon or larger batches.
Took this on its first test spin last week and it seemed to work just fine. Neither of our mashes were particularly thick but this rake was a whole lot easier to use than the stainless steel spoon we've been using for a couple years.
Pros: Excellent rake for a keg mash tun. Has held up well over years of use and with up to 40 lbs. mashes. Cons: None
Pros: Durable design. Good Construction. Good value for the price. Cons: Will need a little fine sanding when you first get it.
