Description

Some brewers prefer the narrower 3/16" inch diameter, to minimize foaming by providing more flow restriction in shorter (5' or less) beer lines. 3/16" inner diameter tubing is used in our beer towers, and in all our draft systems. This tubing is 3/16" inner diameter by 7/16" outer diameter. This tubing will fit 1/4" hose barbs if you heat it in hot water before slipping over the fitting.

Note: The reviews below about the tubing being thin where placed when we were selling thinner 3/16" by 5/16" tubing. Thanks to your reviews, this has been corrected and the current tubing is a thicker 3/16" by 7/16". Sold per foot.

This tubing has 3 pounds of resistance per foot. What does this mean? It means if you have a 4' beer line of this tubing, you have a total of 12 pounds of resistance in the line. Generally, this means setting your PSI on your regulator to the same 12 PSI figure will result in good beer flow, although setting it a bit lower can be preferable (to avoid carbonating the beer in the keg) if you do not need to fill glasses fast.

Strong odor
Strong odor and taste. First pours not drinkable even after a couple weeks of use. And even after a couple pours a lingering rubber/plastic taste remained. I scrapped this line and went to their better product and very happy I did! Not good beer line. Great communication from Williams Brewing when I asked about it though.

Good but....
This is good tubing and a good deal. I also use BevFlex. BevFlex costs twice as much but stays softer and coils much better in my chest freezers that I serve my beer from. I use cobra taps. If cost matters to most and I think it does, I recommend this. Otherwise, I prefer BevFlex.

Nice thick walled tubing!
This thick walled tubing is better than what's in stock at my local brew supply! At first, seems too thick to fit onto barbed fittings, but after soaking end in hot water, slid right on.

It's the good stuff now
This looks and feels just like BevFlex, but without the silk screening. Average O.D. is 0.44 inches.

A little keg lube, a little heat, and a little pushing/flexing and it will fit on 1/4" barbed fittings.

Thin-wall; should be thicker
I bought this tubing to replace the beer line in my kegerator. It's the thin-wall stuff and kinked so I had to toss it and buy the regular thick-wall tubing from someone else. I wrote Williams about this and received a reply that they're looking into the problem but that was several months ago and nothing has changed. Sure, this thin-wall stuff is cheaper, but I'd rather pay more and get the right stuff.

Replaced my kegerator lines with this tubing. Can't get rid of plastic taste in my beers. Cleaned each line with PBW and sanitized with StarSan. Thoughts on how to get rid of the plastic taste other than buying a different type of line?
The plastic taste should subside after running several beers through it. If it doesn't, I would recommend replacing it with item P28
https://www.williamsbrewing.com/316-EJ-Beverage-Ultra-Barrier-Silver--P4098.aspx as this line has a barrier inside to eliminate off flavors in the beer.

What material is this tubing made of? Is it safe for concentrated ethanol, for example, the cold side of distilling?
It is made of FDA approved PVC. According the the manufacturer, this is safe for incidental flow through of cold distillate, although leaving alcohol in contact with the tubing for hours may release some plasticizers into the spirit. So okay for draining, not good for sitting still in the tubing.
