Real Ale flavor
If you want that crazy delicious, indescribable flavor that real ale gives (think Fullers ESB, Wells Bombardier), this is one of the few yeasts that will actually produce that flavor profile. This is also a true top-cropping yeast, which means you can harvest clean yeast from the top of the fermenter after 5-7 days (when its thick and gooey, not foamy) and end up with more clean, healthy yeast than you'll ever be able to use.

Slow Yeast
I've tried this a couple of times and have had poor results in getting the yeast to start quickly. It takes at least 6 hours or more for the pouch to fill, then the fermentation is slow. the results are great, but the process can be nerved-wracking.

Easy to use...
This liquid yeast was the first liquid yeast I've ever used in my 2 years of homebrewing and I will certainly be purchasing more Wyeast pouches like this is the future. It was soo easy to use! Just simply smack the pouch (I did it twice just to be sure), wait 3 hours (in the mean time mash, brew, cool), then open the pouch and then pitch the yeast. I saw airlock activity within 12 hours. It ferments clean and gave both my brown ale & IPA (second generation culture) a unique flavor profile.

Clearly a winner
Pros: In about 4 hours the bag was swollen and ready for pitching, room temperature was near 80F. I pitched it into 5 gallons and fermentation began with gusto overnight. Thorough floculation left a beautifully clear beer that I have transferred to the secondary within 5 days.

Cons: None yet.

RINGWOOD YEAST REVIEW
Pros: This yeast swelled to promised size within 1 day. Pitched into a 1/2 gallon starter and seemed a bit sluggish but fermentation began within 36hrs. Once it was pitched into the well aerated beer though(O.G.-1.075), fermentation took off and was evident within 2hrs-no kidding. Fermenting strongly at approx. 68F. Still in primary so I haven't seen, or I sould say tasted the final contribution of the yeast but initial fermentation has been spectacular and completely as promised. Quite happy with my purchase and looking forward to the Harvest Ale it was pitched into.

Cons: Can't think of any.

Hi, What are the distinct fruit esters mentioned, I am brewing a English Ipa and I am going for a somewhat fruity profile. And want to know so I can decide if the notes of fruit will fit with my hops.
Ringwood has a smooth and slightly sweet profile in our experience, and produces a balanced a smooth overall character. The fruit esters are mild, and we do not think will upset a hop balance.
