A truly great, full-flavored beer has the ability to make
you pause and reflect. Open the bottle, fill the glass, sit in a comfortable
chair, and the complexities and worries of life sort themselves in priority as
the alcohol loosens the log jam in your cluttered mind. With this effect in
mind, we have developed our Fireside Ale™.
Our Fireside Ale is a strong English-style ale, balanced and
malty. Not at all like highly hopped microbrews, this one has a rich amber Maris
Otter maltiness balanced by selected English hops. A well-rounded, full-bodied
brew. Alcohol: 6.2%, IBU’s 35
In formulating the extract for this kit, a large
proportion of light crystal malt was used in addition to the Maris Otter malt
extract, for a rich partially caramelized maltiness. Includes 11 pounds of our
blended malt extract, flavoring and aromatic hops, 125 ml of liquid ale yeast,
and corn sugar for carbonation. Makes 5 gallons with a starting gravity of at
least 1.068.

This was my 2nd Williams beer kit, after using several from other suppliers. I am hooked. The final beer was fantastic, crisp and slightly sweet. Good head retention (hard to come by with kits, I have found). I would buy this one again.
