Description

The Tap-A-Draft is an economical and space saving portable beer dispensing system. Three (BPA free)6 liter PET bottles hold 4.75 gallons of beer, virtually all of a 5 gallon batch.

The Tap-A-Draft features a 6 liter BPA-free PET bottle, which screws onto the tapping unit for dispensing. The tapping unit holds one 16 gram C02 cartridge, and features a preset regulator that dispenses the C02 from the cartridge into the bottle at an even rate, so you can leave the unit for a month or two, and still dispense all the beer with the single 16 gram cartridge.

When brewing beer for the Tap-A-Draft, prime the beer first by using 3 ounces of corn sugar per 5 gallon batch (about half a cup). Then fill the bottles and seal with the included 38mm screw caps. Let age like bottled beer until they are carbonated (this system will not artficially carbonate beer by C02 injection). To serve, remove the cap and screw on the Tap-A-Draft tapping head, insert the 16 gram C02 cartridge into the unit, chill and dispense.

One 16 gram cartridge will dispense the entire 6 liters of beer, and the built in regulator will keep pressure steady for up to two months. The 6 liter pet bottles are usable until they become damaged, usually for at least 6 batches. The pet bottles will keep beer fresh for 4 months. For longer beer storage, look to our Mini Keg Systems or full-sized Beverage systems. You will need 3 cartridges to dispense three bottles (4.75 gallons). A portable space-saving draft system at a great price

Includes the Tap-A-Draft tap, 5 sixteen gram C02 cartridges, and 3 six liter pet plastic bottles (with 3 caps). Everything you need to bottle and dispense 4.75 gallons of beer. The assembled unit with bottle and tap is 15" long, and 7.5" in diameter. The sealed bottles themselves are 12.5" long, and 7.5" in diameter.

RESTRICTED SHIPPING- No shipments to Alaska, Hawaii, U.S. Possessions, or Military addresses, and ground shipment only to the lower 48 states.

Dispensing units Fail
Bought 2 sets in December. Got 3 bottles through each and the dispensing units both failed. Instead of the gas going into the bottle, it blew out the side. William's got me in contact with the manufacturer. Sent units in for rebuild, at my cost. When I got them back, both failed on first try. Also, internal parts fell out. Manufacturer replaced with new which both failed on first try. I've been HomeBrewing for 27 years and am a stickler for details. Believe me, I followed their instructions exactly. Don't waste your time or $$!!

Caps Leak
Complaints about the leaking caps are true. They leak. If leaking kegs don't bother you, by all means buy this product. Wish I hadn't...

Great for brewers in small spaces
I don't have the new dispensing head, but I love the Tap-A-Draft system. I'm on my third or fourth batch using TAD and I haven't had any technical issues at all.

I would most definitely recommend this product for anyone with a limited budget/space. It really beats the heck out of bottling!

All my beers have carbed just fine without upgrading to the poly-seal caps, so you won't have to buy those right away.

Plan on using about two or three co2 cartridges to dispense a 6 liter bottle.

As far as the quality of beer, I can't tell a difference between the TAD beer and beer you'd drink on tap at a pub - I guess the main difference is that I usually like my beer more!

Hope this helps. Happy brewing!

Terrific entry-level system
Based on the other reviews, I spent a couple dollars and bought the better caps, and haven't seen a leak. This is a very easy system to use, and a single bottle takes only half a shelf in our fridge. I brewed a 3-gallon batch, filled one PET bottle, and bottled the rest--worked fine. Like all my Williams purchases this arrived very quickly.

Excellent but has it's quirks
Pros: Portable, easy upright storage of untapp'd bottles, fits nicely in a fridge, carrying bag is great. Can force carb with CO2 cartridges (uses two and expensive).

Cons: Standard caps need to be screwed down tight, or just use plumbers tape on the threads of the bottles for a good seal. If force carbing, don't prime that bottle with corn sugar (add it only to non-force-carb bottles). If you add sugar and then force carb, the extra carbonation will trip the release valve and you'll lose all CO2 in the dispensor bulbs.
