SHIRRON HEAT EXCHANGER Description

This compact unit will cool 5 gallons of wort to pitching temperature in about 5 minutes, depending on wort flow, water flow, and temperature. A great value compared with less efficient counter flow chiller designs.
Can be gravity or pump fed, and includes instuctions. 12.5" long, 3" deep, and 2" thick.

Pros:
|
Cools very quickly. As soon as the wort passes through the out hose, it is ready to pitch yeast.

Cons:
|
Works better with whole hops and a strainer on the boil kettle. Pellet hops can get clogged and slow down the transfer rate.
