Why do you need a C02 purge kit? This kit makes it easy to purge your
fermenter (or keg) headspace of air, which invariably contains airbo
rne
bacteria. C02 is heavier than air, and forms a protective blanket over
your wort, smothering any oxygen-breathing bacteria. So a few seconds
of spraying with the hose end of this will remove most of the air from
contact with your wort. One 45 gram cartridge, used properly, will
protect at least 15 five gallon batches of wort from air contact.
Consists of a C02 valve with tank pressure gauge that fits our
D45 threaded C02 cartridge, or any other C02 cartridge with a 5/8-18
NPT male thread. Includes a C02 valve with tank pressure gauge, wooden
base for holding the C02 cartridge upright, one 45 gram C02 cartridge,
and 4' of purging hose. You can also mount it on a paintball C02 tank
for a refillable C02 option (see our R84 adapter when you place this in
your cart).
