6 GALLON BETTER BOTTLE WITH SPIGOT Description
|
|
6 gallon Better Bottle™ carboy, featuring unbreakable PET construction, is the first carboy made from rugged PET (polyethylene terephthalate copolymer) plastic. Unlike plastic waterbottles, this is an odorless and virtually impermeable BPA-free plastic, which allows beer, mead, or wine to sit for several months in the carboy without worry about oxidation. The Better Bottle combines the barrier properties and visibility of glass, with the convenience and safety of unbreakable plastic.
Includes a spigot with rotating racking tube. The innovative spigot has a quick release outlet with 1/2” hose barb to accept our 1/2" interior diameter tubing (see link below), and also to accept a bottle filler (see link below). This unique valve and features a unique rotating racking tube on the inside, so you can adjust the pick up tube to be just above the sediment as you transfer.
20” tall, 12” wide. Takes a #10 stopper and airlock (stopper and airlock not included, order from links below).

Pros:
|
1. It's much lighter than a glass carboy;
2. It's unbreakable (glass carboys can be dangerous);
3. The racking adapter allows you to minimize exposure to outside air, and greatly simplifies the process (racking/siphoning). Even compared to other user-friendly racking tools like Auto-siphon.
This item (#R60) comes with every thing you need. The other models don't have the racking adapter.
Also, the customer service at Williams Brewing is hard to beat: I received mine < 48 hours from order date (I live in CA), for very reasonable shipping.

Cons:
|
Needs special care to clean (prevent surface scratches). Not really a con, but you just need to be aware of and read the instructions provided by BB.
